Send Evites Instead of Paper Invitations

Being videographer and photographer, i get a lot of requests to attend friends weddings. Maybe it's also the age that i am now, but it seems like everyone i know is getting married. Because of this i get all sorts of wedding invitations in the mail. Paper ones, cardboard ones, pretty decorative ones with matching envelopes and what not. Here's the thing...i never keep them. As soon as i read them, enter in the information into my ical, it's into the recycling bin.
But wouldn't it be great if that whole process could be shortened. I mean, i don't need to have a physical piece of trash to tell me that i'm invited. An email reminder would be just as effective, and if the event organizer wants to make it more personal, well...write me a personalized email.
I've had a few of my friends complain and complain, " god it take so much work to get these invitations out." " I put so much work into them, you better come". Nonsense. Just go to a site like evite.com, sendomatic.com, Pingg.com or mypunchbowl.com to send out mass evites. Or, collect your guest lists email addresses and send them out individually. Either way you're cutting down on massive amounts of waste, time, and saving money to spend on the photographer or videographer who works so hard to make your day look special.
